1. What does it cost a course to install the Charitee System?

  • There is no cost, risk or commitment required from the golf course. Charitee Golf pays for the entire cost of installation, maintenance, prizes and every cost associated with the program.
  • We do not require the course to commit themselves to any time period commitment. If for any reason the course doesn't feel our program is benefiting their business, they can cancel at anytime without any penalty.

2. What does the golfer win and how much does it cost them to enter the Charitee Challenge?

  • For your normal daily fee golfer, it costs $5 to enter the Charitee Challenge. However, for your members, loyalty club, and league play, it only costs $3. The golfer makes the optional purchase when they check in and pay their green fee. (We don't staff someone out at the hole to bother your golfers and hit them up for money in the middle of their round).
  • If the golfer hits a Hole-in-One on the Charitee Challenge hole, they win $1,500. If their shot is Within the Flagstick, they win a $25 merchandise gift certificate to the pro shop. Charitee Golf pays 100% of all winning gift certificates that are issued.

3. Why is the gift certificate limited to merchandise only?

  • Our goal is that the gift certificate will create a sale that didn't previously exist. If a golfer was able to use the gift certificate for a future green fee, in many cases, they would play the course again and it would not create a sale. Charitee Golf pays 100% of the cost of the gift certificate and depending on the course, each month there will be anywhere from $250-$1,000 in Within the Flagstick winners. As golfers usually spend 20-40% above the value of their gift certificate, the Charitee Challenge will be directly responsible for an extra $300-$1,500 in merchandise sales that wouldn't exist without the program.

4. Does the golfer get anything else for entering the Challenge?

  • Yes. Just for entering the contest, Charitee Golf buys the golfer their first drink after their round (domestic draft beer, fountain soda or coffee only). Each time a golfer redeems the free drink, the course charges Charitee Golf their cost on that drink. This has two main benefits to the course.
    • The course will see a dramatic increase in the percentage of golfers who are driven to your bar after their round because of the free drink they receive from Charitee Golf.
    • We cannot predict the percentage of golfers who will make additional purchases beyond the free drink. At some courses it is 75% and at others it is as low as 20%. Although we like it much more when the Charitee "free drink" spurs additional spending, even golfers who only stay for the free drink, this adds to the overall value and experience at your facility. As the economy has made courses much more competitive for every single round, anything a course can do to add value to their golfers' without any cost is important. Although we pay the cost of this drink, golfers will perceive that they received a free drink from the course.

5. How much of the money goes to charity and can the course choose a local charity?

  • For every Hole-in-One winner, not only will golfer win $1,500, but the designated charity will receive a $500 donation in the name of the golf course. In months when there isn't a Hole-in-One winner, the charity will receive 7% of sales. In most cases, our partner charity is the Fallen Patriot Fund which helps families of soldiers wounded or killed in combat.
  • If the course wants to use a local charity, in most cases, we will accommodate them. Many courses designate their local PGA section or their local youth golf organization so the amount that goes to the non-profit indirectly benefits them. If neither applies, we generally use the Fallen Patriot Fund.

6. What is involved with the installation process and how long does it take?

  • The installation of the entire system takes less than 4 hours and does not interfere at all with your play.
  • Inside the pro shop, we provide the course with a small touch screen monitor and ticket printer as well as a sign that explains the program to golfers.
  • At the hole, near the tee box, there is a small, discrete sign that lets golfers know this is the Charitee Challenge hole.
  • We place our camera pole at least 20 yards away from the green and it is always located in a place that doesn't stick out or take away from the natural beauty of the course. This pole houses 2-3 cameras that capture and record the entire green and entire tee area.
  • If for any reason the course decides to discontinue the program, they can do so without any penalty and Charitee Golf will pay all costs involved in removing the system. It takes less than two hours to remove the system and there won't be any sign that the Charitee System was ever in place.

7. Is it the course's responsibility to review the footage and what happens if there is a controversy over a claimed winning shot?

  • Our policy is that we pay 100% of every single claimed winning shot unless we provide the footage clearly showing that the claim is not valid.
  • Charitee Golf reviews all footage and there isn't any extra responsibility placed on the course.

8. What are the main benefits the Charitee Challenge will provide to our course?

  • Without any cost, risk or downside, a golf course that installs the Charitee program will add a little extra value and excitement to your golfers' normal round by offering them the option of a Hole-in-One and Proximity contest, every round they play, and not just at outings or events.
  • Each month, there may be anywhere from $250-$1,000 in gift certificates issued for Within the Flagstick winners. As golfers often spend 20-40% above the value of their gift certificate, the Charitee program is directly responsible for an extra $300-$1,500 in new merchandise sales. That is a lot of extra merchandise that is sold due to our program.
  • Charitee Golf buys your customer their first drink after their round. This will add value to your golfer's overall experience at your course and as many golfers will make additional purchases, this can be a very powerful tool to drive your post round F&B sales.
  • Through the Charitee Program, your course will be able to generate and raise funds for the designated charity.
  • On the $5 tickets for your rack paying golfers (not the $3 ticket for your members, loyalty club or league play), Charitee Golf allows the course to use the bottom part of the ticket to drive or promote repeat play, frequency and loyalty. Most courses use the space to offer $5 off any future round over $30. It is optional to the course whether they want to utilize this space, but it can be a very powerful tool to drive repeat play and frequency from your non loyalty club customers. Rack rate paying golfers rarely play one course more than 30% of their annual rounds. When the golfer is deciding where to make their next tee time, most likely, your course is one of 6-10 courses they are considering. Golfers will keep the ticket if it has the $5 discount offer and you want that ticket in their possession when they are making their tee time decisions. It will take your course to the front of their mind and they will choose it more often than they normally would.

9. Can the course use the Charitee System for outings and events instead of traditional Hole-in-One insurance?

  • Yes. We have special pricing for outings and our program is cheaper and easier than traditional Hole-in-One insurance. The course doesn't have to go through the process of setting up the insurance for that event and the outing doesn't have to staff a person at the hole as a witness.

10. What type of courses are a good fit for the Charitee Challenge?

  • Our program is a fit on almost any course that allows public play. Our program is on high end daily fee and resort courses, semi-private courses, privately owned daily fee courses as well as municipally owned courses.
